The world famous Harlem Wizards came out to Field Elementary School in Pasadena, to prepare them for a fund-raising event on April 27, 2008 at Pasadena High School. The event is to raise funds for the school's future activities and education. The students and staff were very excited, as the Harlem Wizards gave an excellent performance of the day in the school's cafeteria.
Some of the players from the Harlem Wizards such as, Rashaan "Rocket" Barner, Swoop "The Big Kid" Simpson, Johnie "Magic" Dadzie and Solomon "The King" Bamiro, entertained the students with a creative style of spinning and twirling a basketball. They played games giving away posters, tickets to the upcoming game and T-shirts to a selective few participants from the audience. The students as well as the staff members were amazed, by the way the Wizards created a story and gave them a little taste of what is to come in April. "This is one of the most exciting things to happen for the school," stated Julieann Pina, one of the parents and PTA board members of Field Elementary.
The fund-raiser is scheduled for Sunday, April 27th at 2pm and will be a enjoyable fun loving basketball game. There will also be some special celebrity guest appearances that will be representing on the Field's team. Field Elementary students, staff members, family members, friends and the Pasadena community as well as others are all welcome to attend. There are great expectations for Field Elementary School to have major success from this wonderful event. There goal is to make enough funds to be able to give back to the school and make this a annual occasion for their students.
